An opportunity for the congregation to discuss the future of Belton Presbyterian Church will be held following the service on May 25. This is a listening/discussion session where all participants are encouraged to share their ideas concerning the future of the congregation, the future use of our building, and ways for more involvement with the community. This will not be a called congregational meeting and no final decisions will be made. This is a time set aside to discuss where we are as a congregation and where we hope to be in the future. Please make every effort to attend.

What is a Matthew 25 Church?
Our congregation has accepted the invitation of our denomination, the Presbyterian Church (USA), to follow Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 25:31–46 by becoming active disciples and making a difference in our community and the world. As part of our Matthew 25 commitment, we pledge to embrace one or more of these three areas of focus:
• Building congregational vitality by deepening and energizing our faith and growing as joyful leaders and disciples actively engaged with our community as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
• Dismantling structural racism by fearlessly applying our faith to advocate and break down the systems, practices and thinking that underlie discrimination, bias, prejudice and oppression of people of color.
• Eradicating systemic poverty by acting on our beliefs and working to change laws, policies, plans and structures in our society that perpetuate economic exploitation of people who are poor.

Belton Presbyterian Church needs people who appreciate these historic buildings. Please join us! Our Doors are Open!
We need help with tasks such as shoveling snow, mowing the grass, keeping the Sanctuary clean. Our current members are all older citizens. We continue to work with
contractors to improve the building, to replace missing roofing tiles, and tower sidings.
In today’s society, families choose to do other activites on Sunday morning rather than attend church. Many no longer participate in Church activities, such as Women’s Circles, time of
fellowship, Bible study, Children’s Choirs, Vacation Bible School, pot-luck dinners. These seem to be ways of
the past. Rather than wondering if “they” (WE) can keep their lights on, Join us! Become WE and we will work together to attend
worship, start activities, donate our gifts of time and money. Help us build a vibrant congregation.
Join hands
with us.
All are welcome!
Organist Marilyn Vanderlinden
We are pleased to announce that Marilyn Vanderlinden has become our regular accompanist for Sunday services. Marilyn has decades of experience as a church musician in various churches, playing both the piano and the organ. She was the organist at Ruskin Heights Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, MO, when Pastor Rob was the pastor there. Marilyn is also available for church funerals/memorial services and weddings.
